Rückblick 05.01.2012

Dear fellow Toastmasters,
The first Toastmaster meeting of 2012 was held on board Air Rheinredner Flight 001. It was a most enjoyable flight as the passengers will tell you. It started with the inflight entertainment. The word of the evening “weather attack” came from Annette, our guest Monica told us about a Taparia bar in Barcelona and again Annette braved the stage with her joke. We took off having been under severe “weather attack” caused by a lot of rain and reaching our cruising altitude we heard 2 prepared speaches. First was Alptekin with his speech called “surprise”. What a surprise as he told us, without using a projector, what the secret of the Toastmasters is. Then came Dirk with his speech “Peer Pressure”. We could all relate to his first negative experiences of peer pressure, because he didn’t have Jinglers Jeans and then his positive experience of peer pressure because of his involvement in a startup business. We then settled back and enjoyed 4 table to pics from Eva trying to sell Alt bier on board, our guest Maike landing in Novosibirsk instead of Mallorca, Sabine spending a week in Novosibirsk recovering from her Alt bier allergy and Sarah wanting to go to Japan for some Sushi.
The best prepared speach was given by Dirk, the best table topic speaches were presented by Eva and Sarah. The best evaluation speach was given by Christian Bahß. The award for the best use of the word of the evening was given to Eva (I think).

Flight 001has landed safely after a most enjoyable flight. I thank my crew for bearing with me on my first flight as a captain and for helping me fill up the unclaimed roles. Thanks to all my passengers for not throwing up or otherwise making a mess of the plane. I hope you will join me again on another journey.
