Dear Rheinredner,

Last Thursday 11 members and 1 guest met for an evening of exchange about culture.

We started by welcoming each other with “Good evening” in Japanese, Chinese, French, Spanisch, Kölsch, German, Italian, Arabic, Indonesian, Tagalog, and English of course ????

Then we dropped by in China – Timm’s speech about his Toastmaster’s experience –, learnt about Sarah’s funny language mishaps in Germany and finally found out what a mökki is – Lars told us about his three years in Finland which included trips to this typical vacation home. Frank explained to us the difference between a toxic and a constructive positive attitude in his concise 3-minute-speech. The speeches were evaluated by Philip, Jan, Anne, and our guest Anouar from the Münster Toastmasters Club Selbstredend.

Our Table Topic Master Jan put us on the edge of our seats, when he covertly assigned Table Topics to four speakers. Only at the end we learnt that all speakers were asked to present speeches of their own choice. This led to a variety of creative approaches from Peter-Christoph, Sabine, Philip, and Anne. These speeches were evaluated by Martin. Peter-Christoph surprised us with funny titles for these speeches when prompting us to vote for the best Table Topic.

The evening was rounded off with the Grammarian’s report by Peter-Christoph and the General Evaluation by Sabine.

It was a funny, informative and well-organized evening, and Jan received the Boomerang for the creative sparkle he added with his Table Topics.

This Thursday the Rheinredner open their door for the next learning opportunity, this time after many months in the TENRI again – please read Julian’s Mail from the 05.10. about the rules.
